Book Tour: Fred Gets Dressed by Peter Brown

I am thrilled to be hosting a spot on the FRED GETS DRESSED by Peter Brown Blog Tour hosted by Rockstar Book Tours. Check out my post and make sure to enter the giveaway!

About The Book:

Title: FRED GETS DRESSED

Author: Peter Brown

Pub. Date: May 4, 2021

Publisher:  Little, Brown Books for Young Readers

Pages: 48

Formats: Hardcover, Paperback, eBook, audiobook

Find it: Goodreads, Amazon, Kindle, AudibleB&NiBooksKobo, TBD, Bookshop.org

From a New York Times bestselling author and Caldecott-honor winning artist comes an exuberant illustrated story about playing dress up, having fun, and feeling free.

The boy loves to be naked. He romps around his house naked and wild and free. Until he romps into his parents' closet and is inspired to get dressed. First he tries on his dad's clothes, but they don't fit well. Then he tries on his mom's clothes, and wow! The boy looks great. He looks through his mom's jewelry and makeup and tries that on, too. When he's discovered by his mother and father, the whole family (including the dog!) get in on the fun, and they all get dressed together.

This charming and humorous story was inspired by bestselling and award-winning author Peter Brown's own childhood, and highlights nontraditional gender roles and self-expression.

Fred Gets Dressed implies a cute book. It's a good one for teaching children how to get dressed. It also shows a bit of transgender dressing. I enjoyed that part of it, especially when the parents came into the bedroom. I am not sure if this is the plot of the story or not.

It shows that they let their child choose what they want to wear. It may also be teaching to let your child play dress-up with a child or children. They may want to try on mom or dad clothes, and that should be okay as well.

The author seems to be emphasizing allowing your child to play dress up and it being okay to wear mom's clothes or dad's clothes. It is a sweet story; nonetheless, Children will enjoy this. May Fred be a girl or a boy? Who to say? The author does not say if Fred is a boy or a girl. Your children could see themselves in the story; This does not always happen. Well done with that.

I rated the book four stars (moons). I am not exactly sure if the story is about transgender children or learning to get dressed. That does not matter too much, but the other reason for it implying determination is I did not get the print copy. I am not blaming the author on this, as it is the slow mail that is the problem. I hope that parents will pick this up to put on their child's bookshelves. It is a good book for children to learn whether the story or plot is about transgender children or learning to get dressed or to play dress up.

Children should be allowed to play dress-up. There is nothing wrong with trying on other people's clothes. It may be that they either enjoy or identify with them better.

Book Review: A Night at the Farm: A Bedtime Story

Book Title:
A Night at the Farm
Author: Chelsea Cates, Quinn Metal Corbin
Genres: Children, Picture Books, Animals, Bedtime, Farms, Fiction, Children Fiction, Humor
Publisher: Running Press Kids
Publisher Date: February 9, 2021 (32 Pages, Hardcover)
Age Group: 4-8 year olds
ISBN: 9780762468416
This quirky bedtime story brings to life an eclectic cast of miniature farm animals and what they get themselves into while the farmer is fast asleep.

After a long day of work, the farmer has gone to bed. But for her farm animals, the party is just getting started. While the farmer sleeps, the cows steal her truck to go to the moo-vies, the pigs pamper themselves, and the goats put on a midnight fashion show. This photographic book of miniatures depicts the mischief the farm animals get into in this adorable bedtime book.

I think I found a great bedtime story. It is a book about animals. It is on a farm. It is called “A Night at the Farm.” It is funny. I enjoyed it. I was laughing at the antics that the animal did while the farmer is asleep. Maybe your child is a night owl and likes to party. They enjoy farm animals and wonder what they might do while you sleep. This book is funny and unique.

The pictures are down well. Its pages look so real. The antics the animals are doing make you laugh and enjoy the story. Parents should get this for their young readers. It is suitable for children of four years old and to eight years old. If you are older, that does not mean you will not like it.

There seems to be a party that begins once the humans go to sleep for the night. The party lasts all night long. Will the animals enjoy the fun. The farm seems unaware. Each page has some rhyming going on, but you will be drawn in with the picture being so real. The animals look so authentic. The animals get into mischief and other trouble. What will they get themselves into on the farm? There is something fun for everyone.

Suppose your child enjoys fashion shows. There seems to be a dance-off, and I wonder what animals are on that. Children will love this bedtime story and the fun mini animals in the book.

Looking for a different kind of book that shows off kindness and friendship. I picked up a book called Journey to A New Earth that shows love and kindness through nature. It also shows it through the connection of each other.

This one is done beautifully and written well. They show that the light is shown through as all and we are all connected. Friendship and kindness are shown in this book. You can see what happens when something happens to another person or animal in this case.

What Penelope does to help Kobi is something we do not see often. But we should ask it something we all can do. We can listen to his story and maybe even help find his friends. We are from the same earth or place and we are all connected to the earth or and sky.

This book is also an exploration of what all new and what happens after a tragedy. We can all come together and work together. We can love and live together. Do you know that we connect through life-changing events and learn to find ways to persevere and save the earth through this? We are connected to each other along the way.

Zeiny Sher is a children’s book author whose journey began while writing a journal of life’s little love and connection experiences for her three-year-old daughter and one-year-old son. Book Tour: Mia and Nattie One Great Team! By Marlene M. Bell with Giveaway

Book Title: Mia and Nattie One Great Team!
Author: Marlene M. Bell
Genres: Children, Picture Books, Animals
Publisher: Ewephoric Publishing
Publisher Date: October 3, 2020 (32 Pages, Hardcover)
Age Group: 3-7 year olds
ISBN: 978-0999539446
Nattie’s mouth was a little crooked. Her legs were a bit shorter than usual, and one horn was too straight, like a unicorn’s horn. But Mia thought Nattie was perfect. In a read-aloud picture book for children who love animals, award-winning writer and sheep breeder Marlene M. Bell presents Nattie the lamb’s true story. MIA AND NATTIE is a heartwarming book that teaches readers about problem-solving, teamwork, and love. On a visit to her grandma’s farm, eight-year-old Mia discovers a newborn, orphaned lamb outside in the cold and takes her to the laundry room, naming her Nattie. As she tries to nurse the lamb back to health, Mia discovers that Nattie is different from the other lambs and struggles to fit in with them like Mia does with other kids her age. When her grandmother says she will sell Nattie to a neighbor, Mia must come up with a plan to keep her friend around—one that will show the family just how special Nattie truly is.

I found a sweet book about a little girl and a baby lamb. This story is a sweet one. Though I think mostly about compassion and how being unique and special. What will happen to this baby sheep that is born and makes a connection with a little girl?

Will Mia find a special job that will help keep her on the farm? Will Grandma sell her as she thinks. Mia seems quite attached to Nattie. The story seems to show you that small and little that they can help when they find the right job or special thing they are good at.

The pictures are done well. They are cute. The pictures are what makes me turn the pages. They seem drawn well. Mia does some special care for Nattie. You will be surprised what Nattie's special magic or talent is.

This book shows what teamwork is or can be. It doesn't always have to be two kids or two people that do the teamwork. That was seen in this book.

This book is good for those that have children that love farm animals and or animals in general. It teaches and also shows that some animals can be calming and stress relievers without being with others. What a lovely story about a little girl and a baby sheep. What a good book to pick up. Children can learn about teamwork and caring for baby animals.

Marlene M. Bell is an award-winning writer, artist, and crazy sheep lady who resides in beautiful East Texas. Her renown sheep photographs grace the covers of many livestock magazines where she also writes newsy articles about raising sheep from her hands-on experience. Marlene offers the first of her children's picture books, Mia and Nattie: One Great Team which is based on true events from the Bell’s ranch. It's a touching story of compassion and love between a little girl and her lamb. Marlene shares her life with her husband and dreadfully spoiled horned Dorset sheep: a large Maremma guard dog named Tia, and cats, Hollywood, Leo, and Squeaks. The cats believe they rule the household—and do.

In the Nick of Time, it is about learning the meaning of Christmas. This book brings home that meaning though a little boy. There a letter then comes to him by mistake but will he learn that there are more things to be thankful and show kindness.

There is a boy who just wants a toy for his little brother and a job for his mom and nothing for himself. Will Nick figure it out that there are more important things rather than what he wants. Ever been new somewhere or place. Well, this is a good book to teach your child or children a valuable lesson about yourself. Animals at the Office portray that meaning though out the book that you learn the value of you and your skills and being unique.

Children should not have to fit into to make friends or be part of a group. You should be able to be yourself and still know your values. This book shows that throughout. The pictures even show the emotions and actions of trying to be someone else.

There is rhyming and the learning of that is nice. I was smiling as I was reading this book. It teaches and gives a valuable lesson throughout. The book is colorful and done well. It a joy to read and see the pictures. In time as today, these books are sometimes forgotten that have value and lessons for children who need to learn.
