One Boy's War is a bit of a continuation of Boy from Berlin. It is all based on a ship and in London, England during 1940 in the summer. It tells the tale of a boy named Kafer who is on a ship to Canada. He ends up returning to London, England.

Kafer and his mother and sibling are on the ship to Cannada. Something happens to make them return to London. There is an adventure for Kafer on the return. The adventures are enjoyable to read. There seems to be a mystery man that Kafer spots at the hotel while he and his family are waiting in Scotland.

There seems to be an adventure that Kafer and friend named Freddy that get Kafer into so trouble. Though I do not want to spoil that goes. This book is a good read. Children will enjoy it. If you want to find out if Kafer and his family make it safe and sound to Canada or not. I would suggest picking this book up.

In London, there are more adventures that Kafer goes on and he brings his brother along for one of them. Will they escape the Nazi's ore will they not. Will Kafer save his family or will he be stopped. The twist and turns of this book make you want to read to find out.

I was turning the pages of this book. I could not put it down. This book is mostly fiction with historical events that take place and with a real family. Any historical fiction fan from middle grade and up will enjoy this. I also enjoy the fact that this book and Boy from Berlin are pretty clean in language. I did not find one bad word in either book.

Boy From Berlin is a well-written story of a family. It tells the story of a boy and his family journey from Nazi Germany. What a compelling tale. It is great for children to learn about Berlin and what happens to Jews during Hitler's time.

The way this takes us on Kafer's journey from Berlin to England. Young readers will enjoy the adventure. They will also learn about what it was like to be Jew or some escaped from Hitler. You are pulled along with Kafer and his family. I was having a hard time turning the pages. There are surprises and twists throughout the book.

This was historical fiction read but it great for any historical fan. It one that I would recommend to pick up for middle-grade children and readers. Great for young readers as well. If you are into spies and World War 2 then this is a good book to pick and read. It is based on the true story of Kafer and his family. Though there is some fiction to it.

Looking for a good book that teaches about history to your young child. Lucy and the la petite nouvelle (The Newcomer) is the first book that introduces a new friend. It also teaches your child or children about race or at least mentions it. Though it mostly about how friendships are formed, It show how a new person from a different culture feels when they move to a new country or area.

Like I said it does talk about race a bit. It set in the year 1960's so we are going to to see the reactions that will happen. What it mostly about seem to focus on friendships, growing up and slibing thoughout the book.

There are some good life lessons to learn though out the book as well. Lucy seem to try and make friends with Simone and show her new friend around. We see how Lucy deals with some problems. Eddie seem to be good part of it as well and showing Simone's brother around.

I enjoy the story and life lessons learned though the book and how it told. Good for children in middle grade. We learn a bit of french and a little bit of history as well. We do read the story though the viewpoint of Lucy.

Book Review: North or Be Eaten by Andrew Peterson

Book Title: North! or Be Eaten
Author: Andrew Peterson
Series: The WingFeather Saga #2
Publisher: WaterBrook & Multnomah
Publisher Date: March 10, 2020 (352 Pages, Paperback)
Genres: Middle Grade, Young Adult, Fantasy, Action / Adventure
First they found themselves On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness. Now they must make their way North! Or Be Eaten . . .

Janner, Tink, and Leeli Igiby thought they were normal children with normal lives and a normal past. But now they know they're really the Lost Jewels of Anniera, heirs to a legendary kingdom across the sea, and suddenly everyone wants to kill them.

In order to survive, the Igibys must flee to the safety of the Ice Prairies, where the lizardlike Fangs of Dang cannot follow. First, however, they have to escape the monsters of Glipwood Forest, the thieving Stranders of the East Bend, and the dreaded Fork Factory.

But even more dangerous are the jealousies and bitterness that threaten to tear them apart. Janner and his siblings must learn the hard way that the love of a family is more important than anything else.
Discliamer: I received an ARC copy from the publisher for an honesty review. I am not paid in anyway or form for a positive review or negative review. My opinions and thoughts are my own. I was part of the launch team.

North! Or Be Eaten is the second book of this Wingfeather Saga series. Though we start in Glipwood forest it seems like we get a bit about Tink and Janner and the Igiby family. I would suggest reading book 1 first. Though, I only got book 2. It was just as good without needing to read book 1. Though, I think it would be best if you want to know how and why we start where we do in “North!, or Be Eaten.” My rating is 4.5 Stars or Moons.

We seem to be following Janner the most throughout the book. Though we get glimpses Tink. It seems that both Tink and Janner are what this book is about. Though the way Igiby family acts will they be able to survive.

What will happen to Janner and Tink and Leeli? Will they be able to stick together. Will they be killed by the Fang of Dang or the Stranders? I got the feeling something is up with their grandfather. Who wants the Igiby grandfather?

Will the sibling embrace their special talent or gifts? Will they allow Fangs and Gnag the nameless and others to betray them. It was an enjoyable read. Though a bit of it made me take a while to read. Once you get into the book it adventure of a ride.

The images that are drawn are wonderful. I love them. The author does a wonderful job of writing the story. I was more surprised at how it ends. There are quite a few twisted and turns throughout the book. Young adults and children will enjoy this book/ series. Good for middle-grade children and up.

The book is really clean and teaches some lessons as well as throughout the book. You would be surprised that this teaches about the importance of family, grace, friendship, trust, and sibling rivalry.

Genres: Educative, graphic novel, Middle Grade,
Publisher: Saure
Publish Date: August 2016 (72 Pages, paperback, e-book)
Disclaimer: I received this book from the Publisher for free. I am reviewing it though +Laura Fabiani  iRead Book Tours for my honest review
Description: David is a young and restless apprentice painter who wants to know everything about painting. His intelligent teacher, the Master Messina, invents a way of transporting David through time to prehistory. They go there looking for the origins of art, but once they are there nothing will be as they thought.

In a second adventure, they travel towards the unknown art of Mesopotamia. This time they won´t go alone. The sympathetic and intelligent Angela will travel to the past with them bringing her particular point of view.
David travels to the past is a graphic novel. This has two funny stories. I enjoy the story much that way. The author does a good job with images and storytelling. I would say that the book comes decently.

The pictures are colorful and are done wonderfully. You can tell the story through the pictures. My favorite was the Cave painting story. I enjoyed seeing some life of Cavemen. It as just refreshing, As they were called prehistoric times.

Gonzalo has a degree in art history. He works in museums and as a tourist guide.

Description: Crop circles magically appear in Farmer Johnson’s field. A mysterious light sweeps over the night sky and awakens Farmer Johnson and Gilbert, the boy next door.
Curious, Gilbert ventures out to discover the source of the light and stumbles into a beautiful Martian girl sitting in a crop circle. Farmer Johnson also investigates the strange light, and thinking that Gilbert and Aolรฉon are vandals, he chases them. But they sprint to Aolรฉon’s saucer and escape only to be pursued by the U.S. Air Force.

Gilbert has never been attacked by swarms of giant killer robots. Never met strange aliens from other worlds. Never skyboarded across a megalopolis hidden deep inside an extinct volcano. Never trekked across a vast Martian desert. And never been eaten alive by a gigantic slor (well, almost never, unless you count Billy the fat bully at school).

And luckily, he has never ever confronted an evil ruler of Mars bent on conquering the Earth to steal its cows.

Never...until now!

This may be the adventure Gilbert always wished for.

If only he can survive.

What a cool adventure this book turns out to be. It about an earth boy named Gilbert and a martian girl named Aolรฉon. This story starts out on earth in Gilbert's room. Where he wakes up from a dream. We meet up with meeting Aolรฉon who enjoys crop circling. She shows up in farmer Johnson wheat field. Gilbert goes find out what just flew though his room brighten his bedroom with light.  Then their adventure began once they are followed by farmer Johnson and his dog Tripod.

We meet with several different characters. A Controller named Buzz at US Airbase. I do not want spoil any of fun for though young readers. It gave me a laugh as I was reading it. The characters are fun reading about in his book. Even the president of the United States with his personality and actions. This book is filled with action and adventure book.

The illustration in the book is every colorful.  The pictures are down quite well. I would say i really enjoyed the Mars picture when they were flying back to Aolรฉon home. This book really good for young readers. Anyone that enjoys action and adventures and along with those who enjoy learning about space. The pictures are wonderfully drawn. I enjoy looking at pictures and I even looking at them for a few minutes.
