Publisher Date: December 5, 2021 (246 Pages, Paperback)
Genres: Family, Genealogy, Christian, History, Historical Fiction

A Father-Daughter Genealogy Team Link Present to Past on Family Trees
Cate Butler is the distant cousin genealogist Jillian was so certain she wanted to find—and the only connection she has to her deceased mother’s Parisi family tree. So why does she wish Cate would stop pestering her? And why can’t Jillian find a paper trail proving Cate is who she says she is?

Cate wants something for her own career that Jillian can’t give, but she also holds the key to family history Jillian can’t bring herself to walk away from. Nolan, Jillian’s father, steps in when Cate’s chronic career chaos requires legal rescue. Drew, the man who holds Jillian’s heart, has a surprising past with Cate. The truths Jillian, Cate, and Drew find while untangling these knotted threads tie them back together in remarkable ways none of them ever would have imagined.

Now That I Know You is Book 5 in the Tree of Life series, exploring and celebrating unforgettable family stories in Canyon Mines, the mountain town that invites you back again and again.

We have been reintroduced to Jillian and Nolan. Her father and I were introduced to her so-called fourth cousin, Cate Buttler, on her mother's side. We also know Drew is mentioned, who seems to be now dating Jillian.

How will Jillian feel about this new cousin from the Perisi family? Who is Cate Buttler, and is she related to Jillian Duffy? Cate seems to persist in Jillian helping her and understanding her, but she comes unannounced. Can Jillian help her?

The plot gets ticker as we get started. The book takes time to travel back to 1913, in Pueblo, Colorado, to begin the family history story. The book does go back to the present again. We will get this throughout, and it is interesting. We meet Carrick and Ela.

We are introduced to a few more characters in 1913. They are Caterina, her husband Geppetto, and her son Giuseppe (Peppy). We also got the name Salvatore as an uncle's name. We jump to September 19, 1913, and learn about Parisi's family history through the eyes of Caterina. When she reads about the strike, she starts to worry about her friend Chiara, who is sick with a child. Chiara's husband is a miner who works for a mining company. Will she bring her friend Chiara and her husband home to stay?

We also learn that Parisi worked for Carrick and Ela Kyps, the ranch owners, in 1913. But will they survive and bring home their friends? Caterina seems to Ela that she does not like the coming strike. They offer or ask her to go and get her friend Chiara. Will they find and bring them home?

Jillian is getting ready to head south to meet up with her Cate Butler, who says she is a cousin and asks what career Cate has and why she might or is asking for Jillian's help. Nolan is still home when she comes down to eat. Jillian wants to know if her dad won't be coming. He has to deal with Court and meetings. However, Drew will be meeting her. Nolan seems to be getting calls that he does not want his daughter to overhear. Jillian still wished he was coming with her. What is this call about, or about his court meeting in Denver? Will Jillian get clues about Cate Butler or any other clues about her mother's side of the family history?

Genres: Mystery, Family, Romance, Christian Fiction
Series:
Evergreen Forevermore takes place in a quaint little town of Whitecap, Vermont. It sits on the shores of Lake Champlain. John Devore has finished his schooling in New York City. He is now a paramedic and his volunteer work at the homeless shelter where he has helped Vietnam Veterans has come to an end. He arrives in Whitecap to start an emergency unit at the firehouse. His casual run-in with Fred Bates, the town's most ignored individual, leads to the unraveling of a secret Fred has hidden for almost fifty years. Once John and the judge begin to investigate, they have no idea of the scope of what they will find, and who all will be affected by what is found. John lives with his grandparents on their farm ever since his parents died in a house fire. Gramps and grams raised him well. John begins making emergency runs to help the locals. The judge convinces John to help her and put her to work at the e-unit. The alternative for her is jail time. Her name is Katherine Walberg, and her father is Isaac Walberg, one of the rich and powerful in New York City. Doctor Mary Morgan, the town's only doctor, takes care of the residence of Whitecap with her niece Ali. John takes a liking to Ali, and the judge, when he shows up, takes a liking to Doc Morgan. Molly runs her diner, Molly’s the town hang out. When Isaac Walberg comes to visit Katherine and sees Molly, well, everything seems fine. However, under the surface, things are forcing their way to the top, and everyone in Whitecap will have their lives touched in the story, Evergreen Forevermore.

Evergreen Forevermore is a captivating tale set in the picturesque hometown of Whitecap. It is a book brimming with mystery and intrigue. We are introduced to a young man named John Devore, who, driven by a deep sense of duty, becomes a paramedic to serve his community.

We are introduced to a judge who is a friend of John's. We meet a young woman named Katherine who needs to learn a few things about people. The story starts in a shelter in New York, where John volunteers and has met some friends along the way.

John and the Judge share a unique bond, a friendship that transcends their professional lives. The Judge, intrigued by John's tales of his hometown, expresses a desire to visit Whitecap. Will this wish be fulfilled? This book, with its rich tapestry of characters, holds the answer.

John sees a man working on the streets and wonders about him. His grandfather tells him his name is Fred Bates. John appears to start a conversation with Fred and introduces him. He also sees Fred Bates's interest in the new medic truck and wonders why. He finds a way to get Fred to work with him at the firehouse.

As the story goes on, there seems to be secrecy and mystery around every door. What are these mysteries, and will John be able to help? The story begins when the Judge has to sentence a woman he meets. Will a change of scenery and learning about others help out the young woman? What about her father? There is more to the plot than just learning about expectations and how others are feeling. The young woman needs an attitude change or will be in much more trouble if she continues her path. Will her father understand that he needs to let his daughter learn the hard lessons and stand on her own to two feet?

Judge James Wilcox, a pivotal character, embarks on a journey with John to uncover long-awaited hidden secrets. Will his efforts lead to a long-overdue family reunion for Katherine and Fred? Will a sweet handyman, be haunted by the memory of his lost and beloved wife, find closure? Fred, a veteran, is finally recognized for his bravery. Will he be able to forgive himself for the past?

This book is heartwarming. I really enjoyed it. I love how this ends. The characters are my favorite. However, each main character's story is involved in the other's. It is more about a story about a town and town folk than just a personal story. TA Cline does a wonderfully good job on this. I recommend this book and these other two books as well. This one is a top favorite. I would like to know if this book can be beaten from the top of the list.

This book is a treasure trove for those who seek a rollercoaster of emotions. If you are a fan of heartfelt stories, mysteries that keep you on the edge of your seat, and the complexities of family dynamics, this book is a must-read. It skillfully weaves together a diverse cast of characters, including a veteran, each adding a unique flavor to the narrative.

Book Review: Brothers and Sisters

Book Title:
Brothers and Sisters
Author: Ariel Andrรฉs Almada
Genres: Children, Siblings, Family, Nonfiction, Acceptance, Differences, Picture Book
Series: Family Love
Publisher: Cuento De Luz
Publisher Date: March 1, 2022 (32 Pages, Hardcover)
ISBN: 9788418302466

Following on from the success of Little One and Son, from the same creative team comes Brothers & Sisters. This lyrical, stunning picture book is a warm-hearted tribute to siblings and their magical bond, with stunning art by award-winning illustrator Sonja Wimmer.

It’s true that sometimes we fight when we want to play with the same toys. But when night falls, we snuggle up together and fall asleep while we read fairy tales to each other. We’re similar in so many ways! And we’re different in others. But one thing is for sure, and that is that we’ll always be there to help each other out. It doesn’t matter if stormy nights or evening shadows come to visit us. As long as we are together, we will get through them. We’ve learned so many things together, and discovered that the day and the night, even though they seem so different, form a part of the same melody.

Brothers and sisters play together, they fight, hug, and make each other laugh and cry. But, above all, they remain united by an invisible bond that accompanies them on the path of life.

Are you looking for a warm-felt book for your child or children that shows the strong bond created between brothers and sisters? Well, this book “Brothers and Sisters” does just that. It shows it through the eyes of a little boy.

Your child can imagine themselves as the little boy with their siblings as Sisters having a bond with their brother and sister or just their sisters if that is what they have. Or just their brothers if that is all she has, or he has.

Parents will enjoy this book as it shows that siblings fight, but there is also that bond of love for every sibling as they get older. The picture is lovely. I enjoyed looking at the pictures and enjoying myself. I was able to see my cousins with their siblings being somewhat like this. I, at this point, did have some step-siblings and still cherish that.

This book is excellent for parents to have in the family home if they have quite a few children in their household. This book may help with what goes on with siblings, or you may have experience with siblings of your own.

A Christmas in the Alps is a lovely and enjoyable story set for Christmas. You will find yourself wanting to find out more about the two main characters exploring France. This book is set during and takes place mainly in France around Christmas.

We meet Simone while she is cleaning out her great grandma's house. Her friend found a letter and read it to Simone. The letter starts Simone on her journey to discover her great-grandma's treasure and heritage. Will she find more than that? Will she overcome her flying fear? She meets Kyle during her flight from Seattle to France.

This story is doing a bit of genealogy and a bit of romance. So far, it is excellent. It looks like Simone has made at least two friends. There seems to be a mystery going on as well at this point. Is Leon's Aunt related to Simone's Great-grandma, or does she know anything about her Great Grandpa rescued during WW2?

Will Kyle and Simone find love with each other? Will Simone find the true treasure and family? There seems to be a family feud or a rift in a relationship. Can Simone find a solution and fix the relationship with her great aunt? To this end, you will want to read more from this author. Melody Carlson will bring you in to enjoy the culture of her lovely books and Christmas books. This one is no different.

Ava and Aaron's Christmas Story is beautiful. It is about them and getting a special gift for Christmas. Will they get that special gift? Will they get to spend time with their family? There is rhyming, and children will also learn to read and rhyme.

Children will learn that love and family are more important than presents. I enjoyed the meaning and the fun things they do together. It is all shown throughout the pictures. What fun it is to do something with your mom and dad.

The pictures are down well—the words blended into the images in some cases. I enjoyed the story and was reading the book in one sitting. It tells the story of Christmas and all its meaning. Family and some winter fun that comes along with the holiday season.

Are your children or child waiting for it to snow? Do they enjoy playing in the snow? This story is no different for these two lovely children in the story. Will Ava get her to wish of snow or will not? What are some of your family's Christmas traditions? What surprises are your child or children waiting for to get the shock of someone special or a loved one? Sometimes the wonder is lovely and enjoyable, and seeing someone after it has been a while. Bringing the family together is what it is all about. Is it not for Christmas?

Book Tour: Fred Gets Dressed by Peter Brown

I am thrilled to be hosting a spot on the FRED GETS DRESSED by Peter Brown Blog Tour hosted by Rockstar Book Tours. Check out my post and make sure to enter the giveaway!

About The Book:

Title: FRED GETS DRESSED

Author: Peter Brown

Pub. Date: May 4, 2021

Publisher:  Little, Brown Books for Young Readers

Pages: 48

Formats: Hardcover, Paperback, eBook, audiobook

Find it: Goodreads, Amazon, Kindle, AudibleB&NiBooksKobo, TBD, Bookshop.org

From a New York Times bestselling author and Caldecott-honor winning artist comes an exuberant illustrated story about playing dress up, having fun, and feeling free.

The boy loves to be naked. He romps around his house naked and wild and free. Until he romps into his parents' closet and is inspired to get dressed. First he tries on his dad's clothes, but they don't fit well. Then he tries on his mom's clothes, and wow! The boy looks great. He looks through his mom's jewelry and makeup and tries that on, too. When he's discovered by his mother and father, the whole family (including the dog!) get in on the fun, and they all get dressed together.

This charming and humorous story was inspired by bestselling and award-winning author Peter Brown's own childhood, and highlights nontraditional gender roles and self-expression.

Fred Gets Dressed implies a cute book. It's a good one for teaching children how to get dressed. It also shows a bit of transgender dressing. I enjoyed that part of it, especially when the parents came into the bedroom. I am not sure if this is the plot of the story or not.

It shows that they let their child choose what they want to wear. It may also be teaching to let your child play dress-up with a child or children. They may want to try on mom or dad clothes, and that should be okay as well.

The author seems to be emphasizing allowing your child to play dress up and it being okay to wear mom's clothes or dad's clothes. It is a sweet story; nonetheless, Children will enjoy this. May Fred be a girl or a boy? Who to say? The author does not say if Fred is a boy or a girl. Your children could see themselves in the story; This does not always happen. Well done with that.

I rated the book four stars (moons). I am not exactly sure if the story is about transgender children or learning to get dressed. That does not matter too much, but the other reason for it implying determination is I did not get the print copy. I am not blaming the author on this, as it is the slow mail that is the problem. I hope that parents will pick this up to put on their child's bookshelves. It is a good book for children to learn whether the story or plot is about transgender children or learning to get dressed or to play dress up.

Children should be allowed to play dress-up. There is nothing wrong with trying on other people's clothes. It may be that they either enjoy or identify with them better.

Looking for a good book for your newborn child or children? I think one for you. It is called “The Cuddle Book” by Mifflin Lowe. It is a cute book. It's one that is good for all ages but mostly for newborns to three-year-olds.

The book is toddler-proof from the tearing. It made it durable. The pictures are done well and the parents in the book are shared fairly. The book is for loving together and playing together. This book shows you how and where you can cuddle with your family. This includes your child or their siblings or family members. Though it shows it through mom and dad.

It shows a way of loving your family or children through cuddles and hugs. Good for any time but with St. Valentine Day coming up this book is a good one. It is good for your little ones to play with. The rhyming is cute as well.

I loved the pictures. This book is good for any parent or grandparent. It is a good one to have on your bookshelves. It is even a good one to give at a baby shower. I do believe that cuddling is a good thing and teaching showing that love through hugs and cuddles.

Tisha doesn’t seem interested in taking the job seriously, and Jillian’s patience wears thin. Besides, everyone in Canyon Mines knows the Crowder family has experienced generations of brokenness. Then a sliver of hope turns up in long-ago words in plain sight, challenging shrouded assumptions about Tisha’s family. What you Said to me is a little dry in finding out about the families. This one is good. Though I do not know if the story is more about the girl that looking for her family or just helping in find out about herself.

This story is mostly about the girl that might just need the help to find out what happens in the past to find out why the broken things happen. Where is all went wrong? Will Jillian be able to help her find herself and understand where her mother and her family when wrong in the first place.

This book may have you looking for your family history. We do get past the story point of view as well as the present. Will it be sliver help to find out whatever happened to the Bangt woman and why it ended or how Trisha Crower family got to Canyon Mines?

Why did some leave and only one stay in Canyon Mines? To find out that you will need to read this book. Olivia does a wonderful job of weaving history and family together. Another thing she does is bring the family stories to life. Whatever happens with St. Louis Projects that she working on. Will be that this might not be the last book in the series.
