Feature and Follow #13

This is a weekly blog meme hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read

The Rules:

  • The goal is to increase blog followers, make friends and have something to post.
  • You create your own post using the post prompt.
  • You leave your link and thumbnail in the linky list that links back to your post prompt.
  • Once you have your post up and linked, visit other posts and tell them hi. The point is to FOLLOW them not just comment.
  • If you see a post that just hit it to the moon, or just want to show appreciation to a fellow blogger friend, like their name on the linky list to show some appreciation.
  • The person with the most likes gets chosen as the next Feature (you can be chosen every 90 days unless we are in need of features)
  • It is required that if you participate that you have to follow the FEATURE. It is a big no-no to participate and ignore the feature. They are the special snowflake in this little blizzard.
  • As a participant it is up to your discretion on how you want people to follow. Please post RSS, GFC etc if you have a follow of choice.

Specific RULES:

  • Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.
  • Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say “hi” in your comments and that they are now following you.
  • If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn’t have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed FOLLOW as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don’t just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don’t say “HI”
  • Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don’t just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don’t say “HI”
  • If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love…and the followers

This week's prompt is: What are Two of Your Favorite Book to Movie Adaptations?

My Answer: Well it could have been any of my favorite books. Even children one I still have my heart and can ready and reread again. One of them is My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. Though I love the movie. I enjoyed the book better.

My other book to showcase is a bit harder but I will choose Charlotte's Web. This one is truly is something quite different to show off. It one of my favorite and is still is.

Question: Do your reading habits change based on your mood? Do you read a certain genre if you are feeling depressed or happy?

My Answer: My Reading does not change on my mood. Though It am tired I will not read. If I am frustrated or upset I will read to calm down if I am in the mood. I do not read a certain Genre for when I am happy or depressed  I will read what I am in the middle of if I do not want read that then I will not read anything and find something else.

Question: Christmas in July! Someone gives you a gift card for two books (whatever that costs). What two books will you buy?

My Answer: Well, This may be somewhat difficult for I do not know the cost of the gift-card to spend on for the two books. I probably go looking around for a few days. But then I check the website from where I got the website. If I Could find these books that are on this list:

  • Rumpelstiltskin: It about a little man that can spill Gold.
  • A Tale of Two Cities: I never read this book or heard of it, so I would like to read it and it a Classic.
  • Huckleberry Finn: I would Love to read the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
  • Tom Sawyer: I would love to read the Adventures of Tom Sawyer.
  • A Winkle in Time: I would enjoy buying this book and reading it. Never read it.

Think of it this way, I may get only two of the books but what two that hard to say I may get them all but I think for sure is that they all come from that list above. I would check out the prices and then look at the gift card amount and then then decide and pay the books that way using the gift card for as much as I could.

Question of The week: What drove you to start book blogging in the first place?

My Answer: I had thought about doing this for awhile. I just could not think of to start or how you started. So I finally asked another book blogger how to get started, she helped me out and then I just started a blog shortly after. I started in April of this year. I started with books I have started with books I had recently read. I asked for follower a bit though I never force a person to follow me and they just did and I got in to some free book blog websites and I went from there. I have read tons of books for years and I never did realize I should have started this 2 years ago when I first thought about it. I so enjoy it now and I gotten a few free books I learn new authors though it and my mom has been starting to steal my books I have to review for blogging for books website. I know she does not do this on purpose and found new authors as well and me.

Question: Jumping Genres: Ever pick up a book from a genre you usually don't like and LOVE it? Tell us about it and why you picked it up in the first place.

Let's See Historical Fiction or even maybe a Christian-Western Mixture

This happen to me with the book I was reading a few months ago called The Heart's Frontier it was a book I picked up because the cover caught my attention so did the back cover. I loved it and am waiting for the second book to come out. It was a mixture of  historical fiction along with Western and Amish (Christian). You do not get that often.

Another book that kinda did this was The Texan's Promise and The Texan's Honor by Shelley Shepard Gray. It was mixture of Western and Christian. Both were good but I liked The Texan's Promise better then The Texan's Honor though I did read them both and enjoy them both.

Alamanzo, Charles - From Little House on Prairie / I wonder if they take me back to that time and let me join their family. I wonder if I could be their siblings. I would like to have had Charles take me back and have him has my father / dad.

Question: If you Unread a book, which one would it be? Is it because you want to start over and experience it again for the first time? or Because it was THAT BAD?

If I could ''Unread" a book I think I would choose "Fearless" not for what happened. It was a surpising ending in itself and a bit sad. I do not know if I would wonder if he would Adam would have gotten out of the army sooner if that happened to him all over again or not.

Another book I would like to "Unread" is the "Little House the Prairie" I enjoy this these books a lot and have re-read them bout one in I love the most and that "Farmer Boy". I sometime wonder if I unread them that they feel like I never read them before. Believe it or not each time I read them I am amaze because I do not remember everything that happens in the book. It like a brand new book.

Two books I would love to Unread is "Horse Camp" and "No Name Baby". To me these two books were really boring and did not make much sense to me at all. There was a big family secret in No Name Baby and I got that right way but the story did not make much sense though the book and explain it in the end but it was really boring and I wanted to drop the book and leave it. Horse Camp was just boring to read and made not sense at all about what was about and feel this way even after I read the book to the end.

Little House on the Prairie - Charles Ingalls, Laura Ingalls father. I sometimes wonder if thing would have been different if something bad every happened.
Farmer Boy - James Wilder
Fearless - Adam Brown become a Navy Seal Though he becomes a father soon after applying to become a Seal. Larry Brown, is Adam Brown father. He does some things you do not see often happen. Question / Activity: Dreamcast your current read.

I am currently reading "All the Stars in the Sky: The Santa Fe Trail Diary of Florrie Mack Ryder" by Megan McDonald right. It from the Series "Dear America". It about a girl on the trail with her new stepfather and family and traveling to a new home.

I do not know at the moment who I would like to Cast for this. But here what think will work or at least try. I am going to use Character from the Little house on the praire for this one.

Florrie Mack Ryder
(Melissa Gilbert) - Plays Laura Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie
Jem Mack Ryder
(Jason Bartman) - Plays James Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie
Mama
(Karen Grassle) - Plays Caroline Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie
Mr.Ryder
(Michael London) - Plays Charles Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie

There are other charthers but from where I am reading I just can not cast anymore and I will stop here. Though I would change their looks a bit but you can see what I mean unless you read the book and can see someone else.
