Favorite Book of the Month:
Get to Know the Everyday Heroes in Your Hometown Hello Hometown Heroes is a charming and fun read-along board book that introduces children to the people who make our neighborhoods and lives better. Follow along as a little boy, his mother, and his dog walk through town, meeting and greeting everyday heroes along the way. With gently rhyming text and engaging illustrations, Hello Hometown Heroes introduces young readers to the people in our neighborhoods who make our lives safer, cleaner, and better. From the mail carrier and sanitation workers to firefighters, doctors, nurses, and more, the text succinctly describes what each hero does, and then provides children the opportunity to say "hello" to them. The final spread shows the whole town with each hero doing what they do . . . along with a simple act of heroism the child performs--proving that all you need to be an everyday hero is a little bit of kindness and thoughtfulness.

My Review for SnoozaPalooza
A cold wind blows, and snow starts to fall,
Mouse hides in a den that’s cozy and small.
Snuggling into a wee-sized heap,
ONE begins snoring and drifts off to sleep.

Count to ten with these cuddly forest creatures as they settle down and hibernate for the winter. Friends of all sizes, from bear to mouse, pile together in one furry heap to endure the snowy season. With adorable illustrations and rhyming verse, Snoozapalooza will warm even the deepest chill.

They doze and they dream, tucked out of sight,
A snoozapalooza all day and all night.

My Review for The Nutcracker Conspiracy
Three years ago, the nation gasped in horror when the President of the United States barely escaped an assassination attempt that left two dead—the vice president’s wife and the attempted assassin. Even after numerous investigations proved otherwise, conspiracy theorists argue that the assassin was acting on orders from the CIA, FBI, and every federal agency within a hundred miles of the capital.

Aspiring Author Dean Conway is the last person Lieutenant Commander Murphy Thornton wants to spend his Saturday afternoon when they end up at the same wedding reception table. While their wives tend to bridesmaid duties, Murphy is trapped listening to Dean’s latest work-in-project—completing the manuscript of an investigative journalist who’d disappeared months earlier.

“She was number twelve,” Dean says. “Twelve?” Murphy asks.

“Twelve witnesses connected to or investigating The Nutcracker shooting have died either in an accident or suicide.”

Two days later, Dean dies suddenly―but not before sending a text message to Murphy: “13”Want to buy: Amazon
