Casey’s hackles are immediately up for this poor child. Spencer is the middle child of four siblings. His parents claim all their other kids are ‘normal’ and that Spencer was born ‘vicious and evil’. Casey and her family are disgusted – kids aren’t born evil, they get damaged. Although when vigilante neighbours start to take action and their landlord threatens eviction, Casey is stretched to the limits, trying desperately to hold on to this boy who causes so much pain and destruction. Casey is determined to try and understand what Spencer is going through and help him find the loving home he is so desperately searching for. But it’s only when Spencer’s mother gets in touch with social services for the first time that gradually everything starts to make sense.

We are introduced to Casey and her family at the beginning, and we learn that she was on a break when she received a call.
That call seems to be from John, who is a link to some of the children who need help.
But will Casey and Mike take on this little boy?
We see a boy named Spencer and his way of life. We see he is polite and friendly. However, that may not be all it seems.

We see Spencer having a side, but he seems to be stealing and taking. However, there is a hole in their bedroom where he is sleeping. What is the cause of Spencer's behaviour?

We see a bit more of Spencer and his behavior. He seems to follow the rules. However, he also has a habit of stealing and taking things that belong to others.

What could be causing the home to do this? And Why? We see more of Riley and her two children. We also see Kerion and his girlfriend Lauren. Kerion seems to have Asperger's. I'm not sure if we can find that out in one of the author's earlier books. It was a surprise mention in this book.

When Spencer School calls and finds that Spencer may be stealing, I can understand Kieron when he is a bit upset.
Well, we see what Spencer is up to, and he gets a little weekend away. However, its antics and behavior seem to come to a sudden halt.

When he goes to visit this family, something is off about his mother. And when they come back to get him. He's gone, where did he go, and what about his mother not stopping him? Though Casey may have found something of interest when they came to the door. They want to talk to Kerry's husband. What's going to be like?

Book Review: Santa Claus Worldwide

Book Title:
Santa Claus Worldwide: A History of St. Nicholas and Other Holiday Gift-Bringers
Author: Tom A. Jerman
Publisher: McFarland & Company
Publisher Date: 2020-05-11 (248, Pages, Paperback)
Genres: Christmas, Santa Claus, Holiday, Nonfiction, Gift Bringers
This is a comprehensive history of the world's midwinter gift-givers, showcasing the extreme diversity in their depictions as well as the many traits and functions these characters share.

It tracks the evolution of these figures from the tribal priests who presided over winter solstice celebrations thousands of years before the birth of Christ, to Christian notables like St. Martin and St. Nicholas, to a variety of secular figures who emerged throughout Europe following the Protestant Reformation. Finally, it explains how the popularity of a poem about a "miniature sleigh" and "eight tiny reindeer" helped consolidate the diverse European gift-givers into an enduring tradition in which American children awake early on Christmas morning to see what Santa brought.

Although the names, appearance, attire and gift-giving practices of the world's winter solstice gift-givers differ greatly, they are all recognizable as Santa, the personification of the Christmas and Midwinter festivals. Despite efforts to eliminate him by groups as diverse as the Puritans of seventeenth century New England, the Communist Party of the twentieth century Soviet Union and the government of Nazi Germany, Santa has survived and prospered, becoming one of the best known and most beloved figures in the world.

Are you into learning about Santa Claus or how he came about? I have found a book that is called “Santa Claus Worldwide” by Tom A. Jerman; it a decent and excellent book. I learned quite a bit about Christmas and some of the many holidays. The history is not bad.

This book is primarily nonfiction and stands set on the history of Santa Claus. How it the name Santa Claus come about? The many different characters that Santa Claus exists and become. You will be surprised at how many other names are associated, and these lovely children call him.

You will learn a bit about the origin of Christmas and Santa Claus. I learned a lot about how the Christmas tradition came about and how it changed over the years. What we know about our Christmas traditions today differs from when they first came about and how our practices have evolved.

This book is okay for me. It was not rated low because of how it was written. It was slow and tedious for my taste. Suppose you are a fan of nonfiction books and would enjoy learning about the history of St. Nicholas and Other Holiday Gift Bringers. In that case, This book may be just for you. I enjoy learning about St. Nicholas and the many other holiday gift-bringers. I just thought it was not for me. But not where I did not understand what it was about. This book was okay, and I enjoyed learning new history.

Do you have a child or children who are struggling to sleep or relax? Well, maybe “Night of Mysterious Blessings” by Sally Metzger can help calm down through stressful thoughts or worries.

This book brings a bit of God into the story. Though through a twist, many children learn that helps them sleep at night. This mysterious man they all call sandman. This book is relaxing and calm for adults as well as children. I do enjoy that.

This book is about a little boy and his dog. Will the little boy fall asleep, or will he toss and turn all night? Will the mysterious man be able to help him? The pictures are well-designed; I have enjoyed looking at them. They do tell the story. My body was relaxing while reading this book. It seemed to destress me, and the pictures helped as well.

This book may be a good idea for parents to pick up for themselves and their children. Children can learn about a mysterious man called the sandman and about God.

The mysterious man came to help the little boy. He looks like someone that we enjoy in the winter and around the Christmas holiday. I am curious to know if the look is intended that way but for me. He looks all joyous and happy and relaxed. However, he is supposed to be a sandman.

This book is a good bedtime story for children. Parents can read it to them, or young readers that are early readers can read this or learn to read from this book. Maybe your child or children can see what comes from the morning light after a restful night. You could learn about worrying and stressing less from this lovely story. I would like to know if there will be more books or a series.

Dinosaurs are a fascination for most children at a young age. Most children are into them. I have been into Dinosaurs since I was a little kid. I still have a fascination with them. This book, "Dinosaurs," is geared toward young readers and children.

It has rhyming and some fun facts about dinosaurs for children to learn. The book can help teach children and adults how to pronounce some famous dinosaurs' names and give a few fun facts about them though out the book. Little ones can hold the book, point at the dinosaurs, and have fun looking at and opening the book without damaging the book.

Dinosaurs are fun and enjoy the read. I like how a child or children can learn about dinosaurs through this book. The pictures are done well and enjoyable. Parents will love this book as it is educational and enjoyable for their children.

Dinosaurs are for though that who love learning about Dinosaurs. The board book is made nice and thick for those young readers. These are some famous dinosaurs.

Mickey on the Move Farming is about a little boy who is severely deaf in both his ears. This adventure is the second that comes after Mickey on the Move. This book discusses cochlear implants and what might happen if they get wet. If you want to learn about Mickey and his cochlear implants, read Mickey on the Move.

As Mickey on the Move: Farming continues to talk about the cochlear implant and what it is like for Mickey to enjoy the great outdoors. Mickey enjoys raising his chickens, gardening, and helping with his dad's vineyard. However, he enjoys the outdoors and other fun kids' things like swimming. There is one worry while Mickey enjoys the outdoors and some summer fun and stands hampered by weather with his current cochlear implant.

In this book Mickey on the Move Farming, we are introduced to a new accessory to the aqua cochlear implant (which I believe is an addition or add-on). We see Mickey with these wants he been when he offers this. What summer fun or outdoor fun and nature is he going to enjoy?

What are cochlear implants? - A cochlear implant is a small electronic device that electrically stimulates the cochlear nerve (nerve for hearing). The implant has external and internal parts. The outer part sits behind the ear. It picks up sounds with a microphone. It then processes the sound and transmits it to the internal part of the implant.

What will he do with his newfound freedom with some water-safe cochlear implant? What adventures will he do and go on? This picture book shows Mickey enjoying some of the great outdoors with his new, improved aqua cochlear implant? The picture book is done well. It is an excellent book for children to learn about others that may be different. Also, remember that children that are deaf or have severe hearing loss want to be like any other child or children.

Michelle Wagner is a full-time realtor, mom, and award-winning author who dedicates her time and energy to charities and events supporting children with hearing loss. Michelle takes pride in assisting families as they work through the different approaches to raising a special-needs child in a typical environment.

After discovering that her son Mickey was profoundly deaf in both ears, Michelle made it her mission to provide Mickey with the tools to ensure that he would live his best life. Today, Mickey, who wears bilateral cochlear implants, plays tennis and is currently in eighth grade at the St. Helena Montessori Farm School, where he is thriving and is social with his friends. Michelle makes sure that Mickey has the courage to be his optimal self. Michelle is donating 100 percent of proceeds from the sale of Mickey on the Move Farming to the Joyful Life Cochlear Implant Fund.

Book Review: My Way West: Real Kids Traveling the Oregon and California Trails

Book Title:
My Way West: Real Kids Traveling the Oregon and California Trails
Author:  Elizabeth Goss
Genres: Children, NonFiction, History, American History, Oregon Trail, Educate, California Trails, Arc, Early Reviewers
Publisher: West Margin Press
Publisher Date: June 1, 2021 (48 Pages, Hardcover)
ISBN: 9781513267302

For kids who want to learn about what life was like on the Oregon and California Trails between 1840 and 1869, this fascinating history book features beautiful papercut illustrations to reveal the true experiences of real children who had traveled west. The book shows how these children's courage, determination, perseverance, and hope defined the West for what it represents today.

Between 1841 and 1884, more than 300,000 people--40,000 of whom were children--moved over land across North America in search for a new start and better life. The journey presented challenges at every turn, from the initial preparations to the months-long trip, and even after when the travelers reached their final destinations. Young emigrants played large roles throughout it all, with responsibilities ranging from hunting animals to gathering buffalo dung, or even caring for babies.

Relying on real letters and memoirs of actual children on the trail, My Way West offers a fresh perspective so that readers, too, can smell the campfire smoke and see the dust kicked up by the wagon wheels. Learn about seven-year-old Benjamin Bonney from Illinois who was introduced to a new type of bread by Native Americans he met on the trail; how thirteen-year-old Heber McBride and his family from England were able to keep up with their traveling group; what ten-year-old Thocmetony of the Northern Paiute in Nevada thought of the travelers passing by her home; what the difficulties twelve-year-old Owen Bush met when his family, including his free African American father, finally reached Oregon; and more.

Including a bibliography and gorgeously illustrated in vibrant, masterful papercut art, this book presents true stories plus quotes so that young readers can share the emigrant kids' triumphs and tragedies as they make their journey west.

My Way West tells the story of real kids that traveled the trails across the west. The children told the stories and through their quotes and paragraphs about how folks decided to move west—the journey across the Oregon trails, California Trails, and Momon trails.

The kids told these journeys on the trails through the images and how life was on the trails. Children will be able to learn about the life and history of the US and the Oregon trails. This book shows tragedy and how everyone came together and helped each other along the way. Children can learn about this and American history by reading this book, not of it but a good glimpse of it.

I enjoy learning about the western expansion and the Oregon trails. I am one of those kinds of readers. I was learning about history through books and how life may have been back then—the dangers of it. When reading this book, I read the quotes first and then the information on the page. Tough, you can read it by doing the significant info about the journey or the topic that was talked about and then the quotes after. It doe not really make a difference in what way you read it. I enjoy that. There is no right way to read this book.

I like the focus was on the actual kids that traveled the Organ and California Trails. The author does a beautiful job of that. This book is suitable for middle-grade readers who want to learn about American history. This book would be an excellent book to have in classrooms as well.

Are you looking for a good friendship and a book that educates about someone with autism or special needs? Well, Let's Talk! Going to the Zoo is a good one with that in mind. Those that have autism are not that much more different on the outside than any other adult or child. They act differently. They may even think differently.

The girls start together and draw their favorite animals. They both have not gone to the zoo. They would like to go. One day their daddies decide to take them. What kind of adventure will Emma and Harper have when they go to the zoo.

This book teaches about bullying or at least try to educate about pointing and staring, instead of Harper fighting with them or saying much.; As she gets more upset about Emma getting picked on at the zoo while looking at some monkeys. What Emma did when she was excited brought a bit of attention to her. How will Harper defend her friend? Will it work? Harper seems to decide to help educate the children that are bullying or picking on Emma cause she is acting differently.

Harper is confused when a group of children starts pointing and laughing at Emma while she is being excited. How will Harper stop the bullying? When the daddies jump in by making silly poses and acting like monkeys. Will this help Harper and the other children get along? There seems to be fun, and being silly can help educate children or a child about bullying, and acting different is okay.

Children will learn a valuable lesson and still have fun reading this book. Children will enjoy the pictures that stand done throughout this book. Children will learn that bullying is not okay but learning to understand and educate is an excellent way to start. This book and Let's Talk! A Story about Autism and Friendship is terrific to have on your child's bookshelves or even your own if you have grandchildren. Teaching children to learn to understand and to educate is an excellent way to realize that being different or acting differently.

Brothers and Sisters
Author: Ariel Andrรฉs Almada
Genres: Children, Siblings, Family, Nonfiction, Acceptance, Differences, Picture Book
Series: Family Love
Publisher: Cuento De Luz
Publisher Date: March 1, 2022 (32 Pages, Hardcover)
ISBN: 9788418302466

Following on from the success of Little One and Son, from the same creative team comes Brothers & Sisters. This lyrical, stunning picture book is a warm-hearted tribute to siblings and their magical bond, with stunning art by award-winning illustrator Sonja Wimmer.

It’s true that sometimes we fight when we want to play with the same toys. But when night falls, we snuggle up together and fall asleep while we read fairy tales to each other. We’re similar in so many ways! And we’re different in others. But one thing is for sure, and that is that we’ll always be there to help each other out. It doesn’t matter if stormy nights or evening shadows come to visit us. As long as we are together, we will get through them. We’ve learned so many things together, and discovered that the day and the night, even though they seem so different, form a part of the same melody.

Brothers and sisters play together, they fight, hug, and make each other laugh and cry. But, above all, they remain united by an invisible bond that accompanies them on the path of life.

Are you looking for a warm-felt book for your child or children that shows the strong bond created between brothers and sisters? Well, this book “Brothers and Sisters” does just that. It shows it through the eyes of a little boy.

Your child can imagine themselves as the little boy with their siblings as Sisters having a bond with their brother and sister or just their sisters if that is what they have. Or just their brothers if that is all she has, or he has.

Parents will enjoy this book as it shows that siblings fight, but there is also that bond of love for every sibling as they get older. The picture is lovely. I enjoyed looking at the pictures and enjoying myself. I was able to see my cousins with their siblings being somewhat like this. I, at this point, did have some step-siblings and still cherish that.

This book is excellent for parents to have in the family home if they have quite a few children in their household. This book may help with what goes on with siblings, or you may have experience with siblings of your own.

Buckley the Highland Cow and Ralphy the Goat: A True Story about Kindness, Friendship, and Being Yourself is an adorable book; It was charming and enjoyable. It will help children learn about being kind to others, learning about friendship, and being about yourself. Children will need to know they can be themselves and still be kind and make friends.

This book does show that being different is okay. Family can come in all different sizes and shapes. The story is excellent for all children to learn. Bullying is not a good idea. Children can learn by reading this book to stand up for themselves or their friends.

We meet Buckley and see how he deals with losing his mama. We see how he adapts to the farm where he remains living. Things do not seem to change much for him until a new member joins the farm and becomes a family.

When we meet Ralphy; He seems to be a calming presence for Buckley. It also makes Buckley curious and starts to make some changes. Will they be friends forever? The photographs are lovely. I love the authentic look and feel of the images.

This book deals with two farm animals. This book is suitable for children that love animals as it focuses on farm animals. Though it is not just for fans of animals and farms, it is for all kinds of children.
