Book Review: Think Big

Book Title: Think Big
Author: Kat Kronenberg
Publisher: Greenleaf
Publisher Date: May 12, 2020 (48 Pages, Hardcover)
Genre: Children, Animals,
Series: The Lives Big Series #3
Set in the wilds of the African savanna, Think Big follows moody Baboon as he discovers another powerful secret.

In the third installment in her Live Big Series, best-selling, award-winning author Kat Kronenberg takes readers back to the wilds of the African savanna where the animals not only still struggle to find food, but now they face life-threatening situations. They must fight to survive and are terrified.

But when our beloved moody Baboon challenges Kudu on what to do, everything begins to change. One by one, Kudu, Giraffe, and Bee are faced with the dilemma of who they want to be. After watching Bee choose to do good, Baboon figures out a new secret: We can light the stars in our hearts, empowering our lives, once we smile big deep within, truly believing in who we are, our ideas, and the importance of caring for others.

The danger continues to mount and Baboon finally gets so scared that he cries out for help. Luckily, some fun animals and Baobab Tree come to the rescue! Will they try the new—SHHH—secret so their collective ideas not only help all the animals survive, but thrive together so that their dreams can come true?

Once again, Kronenberg creates a mythical evolution story of some of nature’s most fascinating characters to teach young readers foundational skills for life—in this case, helping them build a loving community that knows the joy of gratitude, giving, and going for the extraordinary. Through playful dialogue and beautiful illustrations, readers learn to take a deep breath, connect their heads to their hearts, and celebrate their best lives as they problem solve. As with Dream Big and Love Big, Kronenberg includes hands-on activities at the end of the book and on her website. Her dream is that the whole experience will inspire young readers everywhere to learn to think big together.

I love the way the pictures can tell a story. Think Big is adorable. It tells a story of helping each other out and along with believing in yourself. The way this story is told is just unique to anything I have seen in a children's book.

Children will love it. The big words around the page will have little one say them. I loved that it a fun way for some children to repeat them. The animals are relatable. I enjoyed the story. Each animal and living thing has to find their way to see how are the best that they can be.

Kat Kronenberg can does this though the animals need to learn to work together and help to survive. Will they do it. Will their hearts and minds connect and they Think Big to get what they need to grow and be the best they can be?

Parents and Grandparents will love reading this to their children and grandchildren. It makes me want to read and reread the book myself if I had children. It is adorable and cute. I hope to pick up the first to books of this series.

Book Review: Ghost Moon

Book Title: Ghost Moon

Genre: Paranormal, Romance, Mystery, Fantasy
Publisher: Wicked Whale Publishing
Publisher Date: 4/15/20 (213 Pages, Paperback)
ISBN: 978-17322522-5-7 (Paperback) |

Rumors of a haunting presence plague the abandoned home, but Lark doesn't believe in ghosts...until she has no choice.

After completing his military duty, veterinarian Jesse Holt returns to his small hometown to take over his father’s practice. He soon finds himself drawn to the alluring redhead now living next door, but she has made her intentions clear—she’s moving back to the city as soon as possible. When frightening events threaten her safety, though, he can’t deny his protective instincts.

Unable to fight their feelings, they give in to desire…but another battle looms. Lark’s arrival has awakened a decades-old mystery, and the truth of what happened at Holloway House will only be revealed when it claims yet another life.

Ghost Moon is something different. Though not by ghosts or paranormal. Just different in a way that it tells a story but given that it more mystery and romance than paranormal. The title does not give away much about what this book is about.

We meet Lark as she is driving to the new place that she inherited. When she arrives she sees someone in the front window. Things get even more interesting and enjoyable once she comes goes into the house. Her cat is my favorite. How he reacts is funny. I guess if your pet is acting weird you might want to think about it. They seem to be able to sense something or someone.

Kathryn Knight writes a well-written story. Though it seems this one was very heavy in the romance department. He also meets Jesse Holt. What is happening at Holloway House seems to affect Jesse neighbor Lark. He meets him and he comes to Lark recuse the first night. He offers to talk to his mother and her friends to find out who this ghost is.

If you enjoy ghost or ghost stories, this one is good. It seems it should be ghost mystery or at least paranormal mystery. This is good for fans of mystery and or romance as well. My favorite part is the paranormal which is the ghost in it. Why I do not know, could be that I want to know what happens to the ghost and why she there. There are many twists and turns throughout. You will be trying to guess along the way as to what happens and what does this ghost want until the end.

Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag: 2020 Edition

The Mid Year Book Freakout Tag
I have been wanting to do this for some time. With this being my first and a little late.. Sorry I am doing it in July or late July. I been wanting to do this so, now better then never or waiting until next year. So I am stealing the Questions from Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction.

Best book you’ve read so far in 2020
I am going to choose two books. They are favorites for to different reasons but that okay with me I will be happy. One is my childhood favorite series growing up. The first one is The Berenstain Bears' Nature Rescue by Mike Berenstain. The other one was The Nutcracker Conspiracy by Lauren Carr, I just love mystery and she delivers.

Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2020
The Missing Planets by Hawk MacKinney is the second book in The Cairns of Sainctuarie series. It was great.
New release you haven’t read yet, but want to
There are to many to list. I have stack to end. Here are a just a few to say the least.

Most anticipated release for the second half of the year
Death In The Cloud by EJ Simon, is my most anticipated release. It was supposed to have released in July but because of Covid 19.. It now sometime in October.. This other three books are Death Never Sleeps, Death Logs In, Death Logs Out are the best thrillers I have read and reviewed. I Can't wait for Death in the Cloud.
Biggest disappointment
A Reason for Living by Julian Jingles was an okay book. If you want to read about Jamica history, this book is for you. The tile is not all that impressive. Let me at mention that I am not all the into this book. It has way to much of one thing that is not healthy. It a disappointment kinda read for me.

Biggest surprise
GenTech: An American Story of Technology, Change and Who We Really Are by Dr. Rick Chomey was really big surprise to me. I really enjoyed this one. So much so I was talking about it to my mom almost every time I was with her or found her in the house once i finished a chapter. I am not this way with Nonfiction books. This one wanting to read more. I am into technology but is also talks about Generations.

Favorite new author (debut or new to you)
I am choosing two authors for this one. One towards Middle Grade (MG) and the other is for a Young Adult (YA). Alba Arango has become a favorite by creating a series that I just want more of. Her series is the Decoders. I picked one book up to read and then I wanted the whole series. Alba Arango books are The Lady Ghost, The Miner's Gold, The Mysterious Music Box, The Sleepwalking Vampire.

Andrew Peterson became a favorite of mine. His book North or Be Eaten became a favorite of mine. I wish I had the first book as well. But I was only to receive one book and it was the book mention above. There are two more books that go with this one and I hope to see it go on sale or work my way to get them and his first one as well. I did not expect to enjoy the book that much as it Fantasy and I don't read much of it.

Book that made you cry
I do not recall any that made me cry. None that were emotional heavy in where I was in tears. And with the way things are at the moment. Real Life is stressful  right now to make me cry.

Book that made you happy
Well 5 books made me smile.  It hard choosing just one. So I put 4 books to a number generator. I gave 4 of the five books a number and let it generate a number. It choose the number 2. I Hate, Hate, Hate This Time of Day!: A Cute Bedtime Story by Alyssa Miracle is the winner.
Most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year (or received)
Look at these lovely books! The Gingerbread Train, The Edge of Everwhen, The Treasure Tree, Think Big, Mindfulness at the Park. All are review copies.
What books do you need to read by the end of the year?
All of them! I do not need the stress of that time. I will read them when too. Only one has to read by October. I have my list of books I want to read in what order.. I am not being pressured into when they are done. We been stressed out enough in our real life..

That the wrap up on the first half of 2020! I hope that I can pull myself out and read a bit more in the second half, so I have a few reviews to post in the second half.

How was your first half of 2020? I love to know.. Tell me in the comments.

My Review for In the Cradle Lies

A Father-Daughter Genealogy Team Link Present to Past on Family Trees
On a solo ski vacation in Canyon Mines, Colorado, Tucker has a love-hate relationship with his wealth, spending indiscriminately while skiing fearlessly and preparing to conquer the overgrown slope of Hidden Run, a dangerous run not attempted in decades. As genealogist Jillian tries to uncover enough of Tucker’s family tree to understand his charming nature but reckless resolve, Jillian’s equally charming father, Nolan, cajoles Tucker into giving him ski lessons to get him talking about the suspicious circumstances surrounding his grandfather’s life in St. Louis in the 1930s.

On the surface, Tucker’s family’s history seems too perfect. The secret may lie in the sealed envelope Tucker carries with him at all times—even on the ski slope. When no one can find Tucker to tell him the fiancee that he never mentioned turned up in Canyon Mines, they realize he must be off attempting to ski Hidden Run alone in a snowstorm. And they may be too late.

In the Cradle Lies is the second book in the Tree of Life series by Olivia Newport. You’ll want to return to the lovely Colorado mountain town of Canyon Mines again and again to explore and celebrate unforgettable family stories that will inspire you to connect with your own family histories and unique faith journeys.
